Something you should know about me; I’m a firm believer in the age-old saying “the most beautiful thing a woman can wear is confidence,” and I love to help others feel confident about themselves. That’s actually the driving force behind this blog.
Growing up, I was always into clothes and makeup. I begged my mom for years to let me wear makeup. Finally, in the 6th grade, she agreed to let me wear CLEAR MASCARA. I was on top of the world, y’all! Of course, no one could see my clear-mascara-clad eyelashes, but I didn’t care. Then in 7th grade, mom gave me full control over my back-to-school clothing budget – would you believe I blew it all on two pairs of “designer” shoes, a purse and some polo shirts from Target? (Full disclosure – I was a private school kid) Some may say mom was crazy for letting me be in charge of my clothing budget (and they might be right) but I learned a very valuable lesson that back-to-school season. . . LIFE IS SHORT, BUY THE SHOES! Ha!
As I got older, my love for makeup and fashion didn’t change. I collected all the magazine clippings I could get my hands on. Clippings of clothing, shoes and beauty products I intended to buy. . . with my allowance! **This is where my mom would say, “sweetheart, you always have had champagne taste” and she’s absolutely right!** Before I could drive, I would beg my grandma to take me to Walgreens just so I could sneak some eyeshadow into the cart when she wasn’t looking (shout out to the OG eyeshadow palettes – Maybelline shadow quads).
Throughout the years, my passion for makeup and fashion only grew larger, to the point that I found myself wanting to share that passion with others. I get questions all the time about my makeup and clothes; products I use, how I apply, where I shop, etc. and I realized that my excitement for these topics flows out of me like a river when I talk about them with others. And the possibility of giving someone else advice or recommendations that would make them feel that same level of joy, and grow their confidence, fulfills something inside of me that I can’t explain!
So if there’s something I can do to help you feel more confidence in yourself through makeup, skincare, fashion, lifestyle – anything, I want to know about it!
Now that you know the “WHY” behind Confidently CoCo, it’s time you know a little something about the “WHO.” So let’s get down to the basics, whadyasay?
My name is Courtney, but some people call me CoCo. I am a Houston Texas native, with family (and football) ties to New England. I am married to my best friend, and fur-mom to our puppies, Maggie & Kelly. I love wine, anything pumpkin, puppy videos, country music, reruns of Friends & Gilmore Girls, and spending time with my gal pals! I am 100% obsessed with all things makeup, skincare and beauty, and I live for football season! I think that just about covers it!
